I want to commit myself to having a blog post for every day of this trip. It may not be super interesting for others but I really want to document this trip in some way to make sure I remember the stupid details. So, entry 1.......

We started the driving day around 1 pm from my parents' house in Middletown, OH and ended the day in Chicago, IL (our future home). We are staying with our friends Nick and Phil in their awesome loft apartment in the West Loop. We are currently enjoying the VMAs and lamenting the fact that we are now all too old for the VMAs.
We amused ourselves in the car by starting our first book on tape (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) which we plan on being our main source of entertainment for the trip (we're not going to want to talk to one another).
Tomorrow, we are going to have lunch in Madison, WI and stay the night in Minneapolis.
